Semi-circular altitude rule: Eastbound flights (000°–179°) use odd flight levels (FL310, FL330 etc.). Westbound flights (180°–359°) use even flight levels (FL320, FL340 etc.) within RVSM airspace.
Radar coverage: Levant FIR has good radar coverage at medium–high altitudes. At lower levels, procedural separation may apply, particularly at Syrian airports. Always be prepared for position reports if requested.

💡 Tips for Flying in the Levant FIR

Make the most of your experience when ATC is online.

📻

Always monitor the relevant frequency before entering controlled airspace. A good rule: request IFR clearance at least 10–15 minutes before pushback, and have your full route and ATIS copied before calling.

📝
File a Complete Flight Plan

Include correct aircraft type, equipment codes (e.g. /S or /L), cruise altitude and full airways routing. SimBrief generates these automatically.

🎧
Use Voice if Possible

Levant vACC controllers prefer voice communications. Text is always available as a fallback — append /v/ to your callsign if voice only.

🔢
Squawk Mode C Correctly

Set squawk 2000 before departure if no code has been assigned yet. Always confirm your assigned squawk read-back before take-off.

📡
Check the ATC Schedule

Plan your flight to coincide with active bookings. Flying with ATC online dramatically improves the realism of your flight.

🛬
Descend Early, Plan Ahead

Start your top-of-descent at roughly 3× your altitude in thousands of feet (FL350 → 105 NM out). Approach controllers will appreciate an aircraft that is properly prepared.

💬
Give Controller Feedback

Had a great experience? Let us know via the ATC Feedback Form. It helps our controllers improve and is always appreciated.
